Realitätsflucht aufgrund von Dissoziation: Black Honey veröffentlichen ihre neue eskapistische Single „Out Of My Mind“

Die renommierte britische Indie-Rockband Black Honey veröffentlichte mit ihrem neuen Song „Out Of My Mind“ am 05.10.2022 via Fox Five einen hoffnungsvollen Track, der eine typische Black-Honey-Melodie aufweist. Der eskapistische Song handelt davon, dem eigenen Kopf-Chaos zu entfliehen. Izzy, die Sängerin der Band, erklärt „Out Of My Mind“ folgendermaßen: “The story was written from the perspective of a house party – zooming in on a scene where I’ve said the wrong thing as always and hating it, that anxiety of not knowing how to be. I wanted it to feel like being on your bedroom floor, a bit whirly and vulnerable.”

Im farbenfrohen Musikvideo zu „Out Of My Mind“ ist Izzy als Abschlussballkönigin zu sehen, die sich hypnotisch bewegt und außerkörperliche Erfahrungen erlebt, indem sie sich selbst multipliziert und schließlich ihren eigenen Kopf auf dem Boden des leeren Ballsaals wiegt. Das Musikvideo greift das Thema des Songs, Eskapismus, auf und verarbeitet künstlerisch die Sehnsucht nach Flucht vor sehr realen dissoziativen Erfahrungen. “We all need a moment to escape sometimes and maybe that’s okay? I wrote this song as hungry yearning for relief from a real world I find very hard to process and function in. Maybe I’m not alone in this and maybe it’s alright to make bad choices from time to time.“
